Scubachimp
Don't be a chump. Dive with the chimp.

No egos. One safety stop. No bananas.

We're not a dive school

Scubachimp is a dive brand and a troop of mates who dive together. Same chimp on the chest, same boat, same pub afterwards.

There's an instructor in the water - Scubachimp is run by Dave, a PADI Open Water Instructor with 25 years of diving behind him - but you're not a student and there's no course to book. You're a diver with a cylinder and decent company. The training just means someone in the group has already seen whatever the sea decides to throw at us.

That's the whole idea. Good people, good dives, and a decent laugh about it afterwards.

Diving together

The troop is the point of Scubachimp. Everything else is just what grew around it.

Dive together

Shore dives, boat days and the occasional trip somewhere warmer. Buddied up with people you actually know and trust.

Surface together

Nobody gets left kitting up alone or hauling cylinders on their own. That's the bit that makes a group a troop.

Socialise

The surface interval, the drive home, the chips, the pub and the arguing about what that fish actually was.

Wear the chimp

Tees, hoodies and hats with the chimp on them - the sort of kit you actually want to wear on the boat, not just at the dive site. Turning up as a group, all in the same daft chimp, is half the fun.

We tinker with software too

On the side, and mostly for our own amusement, we build small diving tools. The JJ-CCR HUD Trainer helps you get familiar with reading a head-up display on dry land, and members get a dive planner, a dive log and a kit register.

Education and fun only. Everything we build is for learning and entertainment. It is not a substitute for formal dive training, certification, dive tables or a dive computer, it does not plan decompression, and it must never be your only source of dive planning. Always dive within the limits of your own training and certification.

Fancy joining the troop?

We're a small group and we like it that way, but there's usually room for one more on the boat. Say hello.
